The Place Where It All Began
Fitness historians have traced the early stages of the fitness movement back to a sandy beachfront in Santa Monica, California where physically fit men and women from all over the world gathered to share their love of exercise. The term fitness was still decades away from being coined, so the Southern California locals, having taken notice of the outstanding overall conditioning of the participants, dubbed the venue Muscle Beach. Showcased were gymnastics, acrobatics, ballet, pyramid building, and weight training, activities which later became the backbone of fitness.
Muscle Beach, The Birthplace Of Fitness®, was not about Muscleheads, it was about Figureheads. The legendary venue staged some of the industry’s brightest stars, many of whom went on to stellar careers as world famous fitness personalities; men like Jack LaLanne in television, Joe Gold in the gym business, Steve Reeves in movies, Joe Weider in publishing, and Harold Zinkin in exercise equipment. Legends in their own right, their contributions set the tone for modern day fitness and shaped the industry into the multibillion dollar entity that it is today.
In 2008, our world renowned brand celebrated its historic 75th anniversary, reaching a monumental milestone that no other fitness entity has ever achieved.

There are absolutely NO humongous territorial fees, franchise fees, monthly royalties, monthly advertising fees, or renewal fees! Our highest reoccurring fee is a very modest $249 a month. You can search till the cows come home, yet still never find a more industry applicable or valuable name, or one that will give you more bang for your buck for such a low-cost as Muscle Beach® will!
